Formas de viajar

Ejemplo:

When you want to travel a long distance you probably need to move by plane. When you fly you go the airport and check in. Here you can drop off your luggage and receive your boarding card. After going through security, you go to the gate and wait to board your flight. When the plane is ready to leave, it takes off and lands at its destination.

airport – aeropuerto

(to) check in – registrarse

luggage – equipaje

boarding card – tarjeta de embarque

gate – puerta

(to) board – abordar

flight – vuelo

(to) take off – despegar

(to) land – aterrizar

Ejemplo:

Another way to travel is by train. When you want to go by train you need to go to a train station. First you buy your tickets. These can be one-way ticket or round-trip ticket, and you can choose to travel first class or economy class. Then you look at the departure board and find the right station. To start your journey you get on the train, and when you reach your destination you get off.

train – tren

station – estación

one way ticket – boleto únicamente de ida

first class – primera clase

economy class – clase económica

departure board – horarios de vuelos- salida

platform – plataforma

get on – entrar al tren

get off – salir del tren

Ejemplo:

After reaching your destination, you might want to rent a car. This gives you the freedom to go where you want when you want. To rent a car you normally need your driver’s license, some form of ID and a credit card. You normally receive the car with a full tank and you need to fill it up before returning it.

(to) rent – alquilar

Driver’s license – licencia de conducir

ID – identificación

credit card – tarjeta de crédito

full tank – tanque de gasolina lleno

(to) fill up – poner gasolina

Other means of transport

Ejemplo:

There are other ways of travelling including by boat, by car and by bicycle. If you want to visit several places on the same trip you can take a cruise. One of the least expensive ways to travel is by car, but this method can be slower than others. If you’re fit and want to spend no money at all, you can travel by bicycle!
